Friday Night Funkin' (commonly abbreviated as FNF) is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47 but accidentally got popular and took the world by storm. The game was made by 4 people, ninjamuffin99 as a programmer, Kawai Sprite as a soundtrack composer and PhantomArcade and evilsk8r both creating artwork for the game. The vanilla game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.

  • The first Friday Night Funkin' event, along with the first tv room event were proposed by Fritzy, who became a main director of the 2 events.
    • Due to lack of cover art at the time, the first 6 songs' cover arts were made by Fritzy.
  • There was a Friday Night Funkin' mod made based of RoBeats, titled FNF: Featuring RoBeats!. The team mostly consists of a few RoBeats mappers, namely AmyKawashima as the Project Manager, ZmbGst as the Co-Manager and more people making the art, music, charts and storyline.
  • Interestingly, the first Friday Night Funkin' event happened a few days before the game blew up in popularity.
    • After the game blew up, RoBeats added more Friday Night Funkin-related songs to the game, namely:
      • Most of the rest of the soundtrack as of Week 6 update, with Tutorial, High and miscellaneous songs excluded.
      • Wednesday Night Wreckin', a song inspired by the game composed by James Landino.
      • atsuover featured artist event, based off her original songs and her songs made for the mod VS. Annie and Smoke Em Out Struggle.
      • Songs from the mod VS. Dave and Bambi were originally going to be added to the game, but the event was cancelled by MoldyGH. See: Unused Songs
  • Certain songs by Kawai Sprite' had their titles changed to be more family-friendly, as the original names were inappropriate for Roblox as they were sexual themed. Namely, Mom and Satin.
  • Kawai Sprite is one of the few artists that have a stage themed after them, specifically Funkin' City. It is based of the Week 3 level in the game.
  • The fever icons, gears and minis are based of the two main characters of the game, Boyfriend and Girlfriend.
