“Do you have what it takes to be a star?”
-Old game description

RoBeats! (sometimes referred to as Robeats) is a Roblox MMORPG rhythm game created by RobeatsDev. It includes many aspects such as Gears and Minis to boost your score while maintaining the classic vertical scrolling rhythm game gameplay.

Gameplay[]

Similar with every other rhythm games, players will need to press the notes in rhythm. RoBeats follows the classic Vertical Scrolling Rhythm Game (VSRG) gameplay, with 4 lanes. There are only 2 types of notes while playing: notes and long notes. Unlike some other VSRG games, long notes in RoBeats requires player to release in time in order to avoid missing. There is also the fever mechanic that boosts the player's score temporarily if they do well enough, however the boost will go down if they misses.

In RoBeats, players begin with access to every Easy Songs and a copy of Monday Night Monsters after completing the tutorial. They can either play a song solo, or compete against 2-4 players for extra rewards. In multiplayer, players can choose to either play on Compete Mode or Casual Mode. In Compete Mode, players can play with gears meanwhile in Casual, they can only play without gears.

There is no main objective of the game, however players can do various things such as completing daily missions and getting to the Star rank, or crafting gears in order to get higher scores while playing.

Tips[]

For gears-related tips, please see the Gear page.

  • Similar with many other games and especially with rhythm games, practice is key to improvement. It is recommended to start with songs that match their skill levels and then challenge themselves with slightly more difficult songs (eg. Difficulty 18 to 20), rather than immediately playing a very hard song that they can't play. It's worth noting that many difficulty levels in this game are inaccurate, with some songs feeling more challenging or easier than what they're labelled as.
    • It's worth saying that there is no way to improve quickly. Players shouldn't rush themselves to try improve as fast as possible, RoBeats (and other rhythm games) is a game where players will only improve slowly by practice.
  • For players using PC, it is recommended to use a keybind that uses both hands, one for the left side (Track 1 & 2) and the other for the right side (Track 3 & 4). This is to give them more space when playing. The more popular keybinds are DFJK, QWOP, ASL;, and ZX,. but it's recommended to experiment and see which keybinds they're most comfortable with, as it varies with every players.
  • It's recommended for players to experiment with settings to see which one will improve their gameplay, for example changing notespeed to be faster or using 2D mode may help with gameplay. This varies with every players so just continue experimenting until finding a setting that they're comfortable with.
  • Playing different maps may help with improvement, as they can learn different patterns.
  • Despite what some players may say, playing with the default 60ms Perfect Time can improve timing. Playing with higher perfect time and getting used to it will make players struggle playing Casual Mode matches where it's set to 60ms only. This can also affect the player's experience in other rhythm games.
  • When starting out, it is recommended to play on Casual Mode instead of Compete Mode, as new players would get unfair disadvantages in Compete Mode against players with gears.
