Robeats Wiki:Guidelines

To ensure that the RoBeats Wiki is up to par with all of its articles, here are some guidelines set to help assure the quality of our articles stay consistent. These guidelines are subject to change

General Guidelines

• This wiki is unofficial. We cannot make changes to the game itself.
  • If you need to report an issue related to the game, please use the ticket system in RoBeats Discord instead.
• Violating any of the guidelines may lead to getting blocked from the wiki.
  • Minor violations may only lead to a verbal warning initially, but repeated violations will result in a block.
• Use common sense. Even if certain guidelines are not mentioned here, inappropriate behavior is still unacceptable.

Page Guidelines

• Avoid creating spam pages.
• Do not vandalize any pages.
• Do not create pages with offensive content.
• Use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation while writing pages.
• Do not insert false information into pages.
• Leaked personal information should not be added into pages.
  • Personal information can be added if it's publicly available with the individual's consent. Any information that was not meant to be shared should be avoided.
  • The only acceptable use for personal information in pages are artist's face, real names and nationalities. If you believe any other information are relevant to a page, please contact any active staff member first before adding them.
• Avoid adding too many details on disturbing topics.
• Avoid using 1st person or 2nd person when writing pages.
  • Do not use words such as "I", "Your", "Yours", "Me", etc.
  • Do not sign your name onto a page unless explicitly mentioned in the game, such as being credited in the description or if you mapped a song.
• Do not create pages that are lacking too much information.
  • Pages should not be 1~2 sentences long, and they should not be created if the said article is missing too much information.
• Avoid creating pages about removed songs.
  • This is an exception if it was added with permission from the composer of the song itself.
• Do not create page on yourself.
  • No need for narcissism here, pages on certain people will be created if needed. If you really want a page, edit your User Page.
• Do not plagiarize.
  • Try to paraphrase any information that is found.
• Do not use AI to generate text or images for the wiki.
  • AI-generated text often contains false information taken from unreliable sources.
  • AI models are often trained on stolen texts, which also violates the plagiarism guidelines. Other than that, AI models tends to generate content that violates the RoBeats Wiki's guidelines.
  • Although the game has used AI-generated images, there is no reason the wiki should do the same.
    • In cases where AI-generated content image is used in-game, the page must have a trivia stating it contains AI-generated content. This mainly applies to songs that lacks official cover art or only have album cover art. Only do this if the content is confirmed to be AI-generated.
• Categorize the pages appropriately.
  • Categories are important for finding already existing articles.
  • If you want to make a new category, please ask permission from any of the staffs.
• Do not use Discord links in articles.
  • Discord links are temporary and will be unaccessable over time.
• Do not post files of any official RoBeats maps, in-game or otherwise.
  • This was requested by the developer of RoBeats. This includes osz files and RoBeats Custom Servers.
    • Posting an osz or RoBeats Custom Server is allowed as long as it does not contain any official RoBeats maps.
• Do not edit other people's user page.
  • Their user page is for theirs to edit only.

Images/Video Guidelines

• Do not add any images/videos that are inappropriate.
• Music videos in songs pages should only be official YouTube or Soundcloud uploads.
  • This is an exception if a song have no official uploads, then an unofficial upload may be used.
  • If possible, refrain from using Topic YouTube Channels as well.

Comment Guidelines

• Avoid discussing NSFW or sensitive topics.
  • Exceptions are made on songs related to sensitive topics, but the discussion should remain appropriate.
• Do not be toxic.
• Avoid using profanity.
• Do not spam.
• To keep the wiki free of spam, no trading is allowed.
  • #trades from the RoBeats discord is the right place to do so.
